"You can't be an environmentalist and eat meat."

To me, this is obvious. To others, not so much.
As a lot of people around me know, I am an avid PETA supporter, member, activist, and vegetarian. I just wanted to talk about this quote, which I think is brilliant and very true.
Factory farms are terrible. Not only for the animals inside them, but for the people around them. These farms go day and night, emitting tons upon tons of pollution and waste into the air and water around the plant. It seems at environmentalists and other people concerned with their health only worry about pollution form power plants; they're only worried about cutting down trees; they're only upset about global warming and melting polar ice caps. Don't get me wrong, those things are all horrible and need to be taken care of very quickly. However, a lot of people don't know how bad factory farms are for the environment, and by eating meat and buying products from corporations that run those farms, the problem continues.
In my opinion, if you really want to change the planet, change your diet.

I think some of these people you speak of want to change the world unless they have to give up something themselves, or do something themselves. They're too lazy to make the change themselves, but it takes no effort at all for them to yell about how YOU should change.

This people need to reevaluate their lives.
