Realizing one's personal legend..

This is my favorite book - it's beautiful, insightful, and opens your soul to the possibilities life has to offer. It's incredibly easy to read - everyone should read it, and then re-read it every few years.

I've realized my purpose in life. Not heavy at all, I know. A purpose is not a fix for humanity - it's timeless and expansive. My purpose is possibility. Discovering the possibilities the world has to offer and the potential people can reach. I'm going to become a life coach. I'm declaring my goal and making myself accountable. I want to do something with my life that I'm passionate about that contributes positively to the lives of others - this is it. A life coach works with their clients in a partnership to help them reach their goals and become their best self, to fill the void, any void, that exists in their life, through clear set goals and accountability to reach those goals. Coaching concentrates on where a person is now, and what they're willing to do to get where they want to be in the future.

I'd considered this for awhile but hadn't looked too in depth into it. It fell into my lap to observe a coach training course meeting and participate in a workshop this past weekend. I was blown away. These people really understood life the way that I see it - as an ongoing process that is constantly evolving and presenting new challenges which with a little determination can be overcome - and by committing to work for and achieve what we want, we open doors to the limitless possibilities in life.

That same night a friend of a friend agreed to be my first client. I said I we could start once I started the program in July. It's a 12 month course but you're encouraged to start working with clients immediately after the first training weekend.

Incredibly I've found that everything seems to be fall into place when you realize your dreams. I've never before been able to clearly see my future. My image was muddled and unsure, without any clear direction. I can finally see my own potential and realize how I am going to pursue it. I can see my future self and am going to take action to become that person.

And it's pretty amazing.
